Women's History Month begins today and March has long connected me to a sense of personal growth as well as compassion for others.
Shortly after moving to Lexington, Kentucky from Colorado this summer, I learned about GreenHouse17.
They are a nonprofit that serves 17 counties in Kentucky. Their mission is to end intimate partner abuse in families and the community.
To help grow bonds in my new community and to support survivors, I have partnered with GreenHouse17. Our goal is to raise $117 to support survivors of intimate partner abuse through your purchases of tarot, tea leaf readings, and gift certificates for readings.
Top challenges for survivors of intimate partner abuse
I asked Greenhouse17 what the top three challenges for survivors leaving a violent situation are. They said:
- finances- many are without their own financial independence
- children- the fear of children harmed or taken or disrupted in routine
- shelter- no where to go; many without family or friends able to provide housing
Personal Growth Tarot Spread
Inspired by GreenHouse17, this tarot spread is intended to be used after someone has taken steps to receive help, particularly in the case of intimate partner abuse -- if you or anyone you know is struggling with intimate partner abuse, seek assistance as soon as you are able.
This is your life.
This is your future.
This is your children's lives and futures, too.
1 -- Talents and skills (how am I gaining financial independence?)
2 -- Legacy and stability (how am I looking after my children?)
3 -- Shelter and safety (how am I establishing a safe place?)

How can a tarot or tea leaf reading help end intimate partner abuse?
It's my intention that providing tarot and tea leaf readings for GreenHouse17 goes far beyond a two-month long fundraiser.
I hope my readings raise awareness of personal growth.
Anyone who gets a tarot or tea leaf reading are shown something about their own journey. I hope a reading like the personal growth tarot reading will illustrate to others how issues that sometimes relate to intimate partner abuse also resonate with their own higher purpose.
Most of all, I hope that during this Women's History Month, strides are taken to recognize the serious matter of intimate partner abuse.
Get insight and support survivors
Ten percent of profits from all readings purchased through April 28 benefit GreenHouse17, nurturing lives harmed by intimate partner abuse.
I am reading tarot and tea leaves at the Mystical Paranormal Fair March 5-6 and April 16-17 ($30) Readings at Third Street Stuff are Wednesdays 4-7 pm and by appointment ($20).
Finally, please share this blog and look online for readings (starting at $15) from March 1- April 28.
Remember: A psychic reader can help with insight on any matter in life. But each one will have their boundaries on the types of readings they offer. Regardless the talent or accuracy of the person who gives you a reading, no reader is a substitute for a licensed therapist, doctor, lawyer, etc.
Turn love and compassion towards yourself! Self-love for creative people and their projects: the Lucky Star Tarot Reading will be shared March 8.
