Patronus in a Tea Cup: A Tea Leaf Reading Lesson with your Animal Allies

With the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them coming out next month, my local Harry Potter Alliance, Lexpecto Patronum, is working with the Woodford Humane Society.

Lexpecto Patronum co-curated Night Market Oct 7, where I was given the opportunity to teach tea leaf readings. Here are pictures from that evening, and information I shared.

To summon your tea reading patronus, think of your happiest memories as you sip your tea.

Note: The patronuses appearing in the leaves remaining in your cup have messages based on where they are.

You may have multiple patronuses in one reading!

  • Bottom of the cup: The patronus(es) helping you right now
  • Middle of cup (along the sides): The patronus(es) showing you skills for you to develop

Here are a few patronuses and their initial meanings. Personal experiences with these patronuses, and beliefs and attitudes around them, also influence their meaning to you.

Bear: Family roots, protection, fearlessness. You have a hunger for life and your tools that guide you include intuition, instinct, and curiosity.

Cat: Perception, sensuality, joy. You are aware of personal limits and your talent is to connect your senses, gathering information beyond eyesight.

Dog: Loyalty, honesty, friendship. You are faithful to your true self and a good companion to others.

Fox: Concealment, inner world, safety. You are highly adaptable and can observe life from a hiding place.

Horse: Life force, reliability, movement. You can manage anything in your daily life with great courage.

Mouse: Precision, sensitivity, details. You are agile and attentive to small and invisible matters.

Owl: Wisdom, sharp vision, decisions. You can glide through the darkness of your subconscious.

Peacock:  Pride, beauty, art. You radiate with life energy and life spirit, filling your voice, your words, and your creative effectiveness.

Stork: Beginnings, birth, wishes. You nurture and encourage new things with loving commitment.
